I often get asked the question of "hey man, how's it going?" Basically, people expressing sympathy knowing that I'm in the world of Bitcoin and Mining. All they know is prices go up and down, and it's crazy and volatile, but for me - it's kind of just par for the course at this point.
I'm used to it going up. I'm used to it going down. I'm not real sure why that's so different than other things given the last couple of weeks. We've had some incredible blow-ups from things that would have really been considered conservative institutions and now it's spilling into everything. So we're kind of used to the chaos on my end.
But I am still very excited to be in Bitcoin mining.
Three reasons why:
One - I've learned a tremendous amount about the electric grid, how power is generated and just energy markets in general. Electricity is the major component in what we do outside of just the machines themselves. So getting creative, looking for alternative sources, understanding how you can get power into a building has been completely fascinating. I've learned a tremendous amount. I think most people do not fundamentally understand the dynamics at play there, and I've really appreciated getting the chance to educate myself more on how that all works.
Two - just getting to work with my hands. Physically building something out to be ready for the machines and all of this power consumption and airflow. This is boots-on-the-ground, getting-my-hands-dirty kind of building. I'm in a high-tech space but also in a very hands-on way and that is very fulfilling to me.
Three - just the potential that Bitcoin has in this global economy. I'm not going to make the argument for it being the end-all be-all currency or that it's going to be the one thing to rule them all or any of that. But at this point when people are questioning do they put cash in banks, then we're in a weird space, and I think that Bitcoin is absolutely part of the conversation.
Again not the end-all be-all solution, but there's some interesting things about it that if you're not aware, please reach out. I'm happy to talk about it some more with you. I'm not trying to convert anybody. Just telling you why I'm still excited and given the world that we're in right now why it excites me to be in this space.
So that's all. Just a quick update. Should be having this Mining facility come online pretty soon. I hope to have some videos for you of that, and until then, I'll see you on the other side
