It's Getting Easier to Brighten Someone's Day

I was at the grocery store the other day, and as I was walking in - I had been on some emails/had taken a phone call/whatever - I was in my own head. Not really thinking about the grocery store or what I was about to do, but just kind of mindlessly walking in not paying attention to anything.

I'm brought to the present moment when I hear "hey man! I hope you have a great day" from somebody pulling in shopping carts that works at the grocery store. I look up kind of startled because it was really friendly voice, and as I do, he gives me the DAP right there.

"It's a beautiful data today, huh?! I hope you get to go out there and enjoy it!"

He just had a big, ol' smile on his face. Not that I was in a bad mood, but that small interaction just changed my entire disposition.

Man! He just put a smile on my face, and it got me thinking about in today's world how little it takes to go the extra distance. To go a little bit more with your effort to really impact something. As crazy as the world may be and as wrong as you can say it is in so many different ways, it actually makes it easier to reach out and be that bright light. You know?! To put that smile on somebody's face.

It's just a kind word or simple gesture. I should be able to do that to others. I should be able to bring that kind of attitude into the world, as well.

As we go into the weekend, just something to consider - how can you put a smile on somebody else's face? How can you bring that to others?

Hope you have a good one.
Catch you on the other side!
